Councillor Carl Foulston

Carl Foulston

Chairman; Planning Committee Member

Responsibilities: Chairman of Parish Council, Planning Committee Member, Speed Watch and Highways

Having lived in the Haslemere area previously, I moved to Petersfield and then Stroud with my wife, Liz, in 2002. We enjoy living in the village and can often be seen walking our dog on the many great walks in this area.

Following a 20 year career in estate agency I decided to change careers in 2010 and took the opportunity to retrain as an electrician and chimney sweep. Since starting my own business I have really enjoyed working with and getting to know people in the local area and this encouraged my decision to stand as a parish councillor in May 2015 which has now led to me becoming Chairman in mid 2022.

I am looking forward with my fellow councillors in offering value and helping to make Stroud an even more vibrant village with enhanced facilities and an even more desirable place to live

Councillor Mark Rowden

Mark Rowden

Vice Chairman

Responsibilities: Vice Chair, Planning Committee, Lengths man, Bus Stops and Footpaths

I joined Stroud Parish Council in 2021 and have been standing as the Vice Chairman since May 2022. I live in the village with my wife, Fiona, and our two sons. Before that I lived in Petersfield and Steep Marsh, so have a good knowledge of the area.

I manage our family farm, New Buildings Farm in Stroud and previous to this, I was a manager within Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service working in Petersfield, Cosham, Southsea and Gosport, spanning a career of over 20 years. In 2017 we converted two of our farm cottages into “The Old Dairy Farm Nursery” which around 50 local children a day attend.

I have a keen interest in the countryside and the management that goes alongside it. Last year I organised the first Petersfield Charity Tractor Run in aid of Hampshire & IOW Air Ambulance raising over £5050.00.
