Playing Around East Hampshire is running an exciting summer adventure for children you can take part in from the comfort of your own home.
East Hampshire District Council’s play service (previously known as Rural Areas Play Project) has already been providing fun online activities for children during lockdown.
The new summer adventure includes a free online activity trail, running for five weeks, starting on 27 July.
There are five activities per week – one will be released on its Facebook page (@PlayingAroundEH) each day. Each week the activities will be based on a different theme, including space, friends and family, history, the great outdoors and magical adventures.
Each activity will focus on a different challenge area, so there’s something for everyone. You can master one or have a go at them all to become a Story Superstar, Amazing Artist, Champion Chef, Active Allstar or an Incredible Investigator.
Keep up to date by filling out one of our activity trackers (available to download here or at bit.ly/playing-around-tracker) and let the team know on Facebook or by email ([email protected]) to receive your certificate.
Cllr Julie Butler, EHDC Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Welfare and Communities said: “It’s been a difficult time for children who have not been able to go to school and for their parents who have been doing a fantastic job home schooling and keeping them entertained.
“As we get closer to the summer holidays and there’s less schoolwork to do, these activities are a great way for families to spend quality time together, learn new skills and just enjoy themselves.”
